KIST ASSISTED LIVING was first established in 1998 by Sharon and Albert Kist. Sharon who worked at Dr. Ledbettter’s office at the time, got the idea to purchase the house directly behind hers’ and three months later opened Kist Assisted Living. In 2002, Sharon’s daughter Lisa moved down to Florida bringing her nursing expertise to take care of her father, Albert, who had end stage lung disease. After his passing, Sharon, Lisa and Lisa’s husband Matt decided to expand Kist. Today Kist Assisted Living has grown to three small connected homes so we can provide personal attention as well as keep our home style charm. Kist is family owned and operated, and we try to instill that idea in every part of our home. At Kist we want everyone of our residents to feel like they are part of our family and truly loved. That important ideal which started back when Sharon first started, is what continues to make Kist such a unique place for our residents.
